Visitors from all the world flock at the 20 Year Anniversary Open House Exhibition 2013.
Water Jet Sweden was delighted to welcome so many guests from around the world participating in
the Anniversary Open House Exhibition in April 18-19 2013.
The event started with a welcome ceremony and an anniversary film showing the 20 year fairy-tale history
of how great engineering skills made WJS go from a local invention to a world wide machine manufacturer.
Then there was the official launch of WJS new machine category, the NCM 10 Micro. A new water jet cutting system
developed for the micro component industry, based on WJS proven technology.
During the two-day event, customers participated in a fully packed program with many parallel activities.
There were demos, lectures, showcases and on-site visits. Wile running demos like Beveljet, Tube Cutting, 6000 bar
and the new NCM 10 Micro, the auditorium offered seminars on topics like:
How to optimize your water jet operation, Composite cutting applications, 6000 bar technology and opportunities
and Sweden Water Jet Lab report on future water jet applications.
Our neighbour Water Jet Lego also invited to the job shop, where the highlight was a 16 head water jet cutting machine.

Customers Flock to see the latest offerings from Water Jet Sweden's 2012 Open
House.
Water Jet Sweden was delighted to welcome guests from around the world to our 7th
annual Open House event in March.
The two day show, held at our state of the art facility in Ronneby, Sweden, was
a chance for nearly 200 visitors to come and see our latest range of advanced equipment
and the new technology being incorporated across our extensive range of waterjet
cutting machines.
It was opened by the Governor County Berit Andor and CEO Lennart Svensson and included
an array of customer demonstrations, partner stands, individual consultations and
after sales, service, and support maintenance workshops.
Customers were able to see demos on a range of operational machinery including
BevelJet 3D abrasive cutting, pure water profiling, triple head cutting and Finecut
micro abrasion. We also showcased our latest NC40120 QL machine. The 4m x 12m system,
with four cutting heads and linear drives, gives high speed point to point movement
and superb accuracy for production cutting of precious metals.
Uptime is Crucial
The new NC40120 QL waterjet cutting machine is awaiting delivery to Timet UK Ltd.
Based in Wales, Timet are one of the world's premier manufacturers and suppliers
of titanium material and a crucial part of the aerospace industry, supplying Rolls
Royce plc, among others, with titanium for the manufacture of aircraft engine blades.
Maximum uptime and throughput is essential and having experienced the exemplary
performance and reliability of their two existing NC40120 QL Water Jet Sweden machines,
Mechanical Engineer Wayne Thomas said: "We keep an accurate record of machine
uptime throughout our facility and the WJS machines are superb, by far the most
reliable we have. Due to our production volumes rapidly increasing we needed the
extra capacity.
Our WJS machines are user friendly and easy to maintain so we decided that keeping
the work in house was more cost effective." The precision table is equipped
with 4, individual CNC controlled cutting heads, fully automatic nozzle wear compensation
system and our new, high speed, height sensing unit.
Our market leading after sales department was another reason why Timet chose WJS.
Thomas added, "Uptime is crucial for us and with a great service and support
helpline we can pick up the phone with any query and get an immediate response.
With a 24 hour turnaround on spare parts, it made WJS a natural choice."
Strength to Strength
Also on show was an NC4020 Triple, purchased by HTM Waterjet in Poland. Our 600th
machine is HTM's second WJS system, coming five years after they bought their
first. The larger table gives increased versatility and throughput and, coupled
with a 100hp KMT Plus pump, enables the 3 independent, high performance, cutting
heads to run together. Owner Thomasz Hankus has seen a surge in business for the
subcontract profiler and revealed why he chose to the new set up: "We started
with a 3m x 1.5m table and needed more capacity. We always aim to be one step ahead
of the competition and the new WJS machine helps us do that."
Next Generation
With a sustained increase in machine enquiries for 3D cutting and our unique BevelJet
cutting head feature, we were pleased visitors were able to view our latest machine
in production. The NC4020 BevelJet has been purchased by leading educational institute
Hannover University, in Germany, and was used to demonstrate how to cut 50mm thick
titanium plate. The advantages of adding BevelJet allows you to produce a finished
component without the need for a secondary operation. The system has proved extremely
popular with customers who've invested in the BevelJet head and will provide
educational benefits for the next generation of German engineers.
Advanced Technology
Our partners at Finecut were also able to introduce new, and existing, waterjet
customers to the benefits of the new micro abrasion technology. With two machines
running various cutting trials visitors were able to see a range of different parts
and materials from carbon fibre to aluminium being cut, within a tolerance of 0.01mm.
The Open House culminated with a dinner dance and entertainment, including live
music, and Svensson said: "It's been our most successful open house yet.
It's great for our international customers and partners to come together and
see the exiting things we are doing at Water Jet Sweden. We believe that it's
important to have a strong relationship with our customers and build a partnership
together."
World’s largest waterjet profiler
Water Jet Sweden have built and supplied what is believed to be the world´s
largest water jet profiler to ThyssenKrupp shipyard Kockums AB in Sweden.
Having a table area of 90 m², this WJS NC 60150 D BEV model, exceeds the previous
largest machine made by WJS in Sweden. Earlier it was a triple-head 4 by 18 m (72
m²) profiler that was delivered to Dillinger Hütte, in the Saar region of Germany,
for cutting heavy, hardened steel plates of up to 300 mm thickness for the offshore
oil and gas industries.
The installation is made at Kockums AB, part of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems in Sweden.
The application will be for cutting composite materials such as carbon fiber and
glass fiber used in the building of corvette naval vessels which incorporate the
most advanced stealth technology for patrol and defense in coastal waters.

Rolls Royce Installation

Water Jet Sweden's new NC4020 duplex is now installed at Rolls Royce's state of
the art facility in Singapore.
The purpose built site is nearing full operation and our waterjet machine is ready
to start cutting the Trent engine fan blades it was chosen for.
Precision, accuracy and intelligent Swedish design were major factors in the global
company's choice of equipment, coupled with the problem free operation of their
existing Water Jet Sweden machine in the UK. Fitted with two, independant, cutting
heads it gives the flexibilty of dual production.
The remote Siemens control allows the operator to run the machine from a seperate
room from where the machine is sited. With future growth in aerospace expected to
come from the Far East Water Jet Sweden and Rolls Royce were natural partners in
this exciting new venture.

has announced further expansion of the group’s overseas activity with the opening
of an office in the United States, located in the industrial centre of Elgin, north
of Chicago.

Expanding on customer support in Germany
The increasing market in Germany allows us to expanding the service team for all
of our customers. This means that our service organization will have a capacity
to support the positive growth in the German market. Since January 1 there are two
new technicians to the German customers disposal. They are happy to help with service,
support and spare parts.
The new technicians Sascha Wessel and Rene Borrmann have extensive experience both
in terms of service and customer support.They will be working around whole Germany
with their well-equipped service cars from where they can support most of jobs or
spare parts. They are fully supported direct from the service center on the manufactory
to get access to experts and direct express delivery if necessary.
Water Jet Sweden welcomes the new employees in europé’s “strongest” service team
for water cutting machines.
